Betty asks…Depressed because of financial situation?After we got married (2 months ago) I got laid off from a very well paying job at a law firm. I got another job soon after that pays a dollar less per hour and does not provide health insurance…only HSA which is a glorified savings account. The job itself however is not bad and I don’t hate it…the coworkers are fantastic and the hours are great.

The problem is financial…this apartment complex we have lived in for the past 3 years has gone downhill….the people look rough…I’ve had my clothes stolen out of the dryer…and the neighbors below us smoke like chimneys and it is affecting my husband’s health. The landlord will do nothing and my husband refuses to move until we get a house.

But we can’t afford a down payment for a house!! We barely make 40 thousand together yearly….we are just now trying to recover from wedding costs and pay off credit card debt…

On top of that we want a family and we are pushing 30 but I said no…not until we get our finances in
